Bryony Purdue
Brand Typography and Vinyl
Singer/songwriter Bryony Purdue needed a word mark for her name and brand. I created this bespoke type design that held a magical and playful elements that fit who Bryony is as an artist.
Creating a bespoke piece of typography, and crafting the letterforms for a recording artist is a unique type of branding. It's branding a person, and creating something that may be for one album, or on going for many albums. And if it does live beyond the first album, it wants to have the strength to be evolving. It's a wonderful problem to have to solve and work with.
From the videos below, you can see how the letters were crafted from parts, and tweaked and finessed to create something unique for Bryony.
Alongside the main name brand, we also worked on handwritten elements for how the album title sits together, and then handwritten titles for each song.
